The U-M Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery celebrated its centennial year in 2004 and looks forward to another 100 years. Our department has a long tradition of being at the cutting-edge of diagnosing, treating and rehabilitating patients with diseases of the ears, nose, throat (ENT) as well as the head and neck. We are consistently ranked in the top 10 according to U.S News and World Report.
Our faculty and staff are highly qualified physicians and care givers who have the experience you want when you, a family member, or friend need an accurate diagnosis and the outstanding treatment. Many of our faculty are sub-specialists, meaning that they have deeper knowledge and experience than the average Otolaryngologist. Last year we saw more than 60,000 patients and performed 5,181 operations in 9,926 hours.
In addition to providing exemplary patient care, our mission also includes training the next generation of leaders in the field, and shaping the future of research and patient care in Otolaryngology. We hope that patients find this website helpful and that it provides the necessary information for all who are interested in our department activities.
